- Correction
Capped published years to the complete CDC NCHS series
2018-2025 rows were removed from the published dataset because CDC had not yet finalized deaths and age-adjusted rates for those years at the time -- an incomplete row would have understated real counts. The site now shows 1999-2017 only, the range CDC NCHS has finalized.

Base, optimization, and ranking pipeline stages ran against the CDC NCHS Leading Causes of Death extract, producing the state-year-cause dataset this site renders from.
